Gabriel (Gandhi) Alva
Executive Director
Born in Trujillo, Peru. Gandhi is a licensed social and cultural anthropologist in Peru and has an Anthropology degree from Universidad Nacional de Trujillo and participated in the Study of U.S. Institutes at the University of Arizona. He joined the WindAid team in 2018 as head of the Community Development Projects department. In 2021, Gandhi became the Executive Director and enjoys connecting international participants, partners, and the local communities of Peru.

Abel Yupaqui Davila
Co-Founder & Workshop Director
Born and raised in Trujillo, Peru, Señor Abel co-founded WindAid in 2006 with Michael. Curiosity about the functionality of wind turbines drew him to the job. Getting things done well and experimenting on new processes is what he likes to do the most. Previously, Señor Abel worked as an educator in Trujillo, Peru.

Kevin Michael VerKamp
Co-Founder & Board Member
Michael has over 40 years of experience in the energy and technology sectors in the United States. In 2006, WindAid was born from what began as his personal project to bring electricity to a remote indigenous school in the Andes, and has now become a system that is utilized by more than 30 organizations around the world to fight energy poverty.

Jennifer Raysik-Young
Deputy Executive Director
Based in the United States, Jennifer joined WindAid in 2023 with over 10 years of experience as an energy professional. Originally joining as a volunteer, Jennifer has expanded her responsibilities to that of Deputy Executive Director. Jennifer has a B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University and is pursuing a M.S. in Sustainable Engineering at Villanova University.

Daniel Infantes
Workshop Manager
After working as a physicist and high school educator for many years., Daniel joined the WindAid team in 2024 as a Workshop Manager guiding participants in constructing wind turbines. Daniel has a Bachelors and Masters in Physics, and is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. He is a lifetime learner and enjoys working with students who are as impassioned as he is about science, technology, and engineering.

Helga Jakelyn Bohuytron Reyes
Chair of Board of Directors
Based in Peru, Helga joined WindAid in 2017 as a nonprofit manager. Her experience as a certified account with over 10 years of experience, has helped WindAid. take off as an international nonprofit.

Jennifer Perugi
Board Member & Secretary
Jennifer Perugi is an undergraduate student at Farmingdale State College, pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology - Facility Management as well as a certificate program in Wind Turbine Technology. She is a recipient of the WRISE (Women of Renewable Industries & Sustainable Energy) Rudd Mayer Wind Power Fellowship, awarded with the 2023 cohort. As a Latina in STEM, she is passionate about representing diversity and advancing an equitable clean energy transition. Since April 2024, Jennifer has been serving, as Secretary for the WindAid Institute. She completed the Wind Turbine Engineering program with WindAid in January 2024. Jennifer strongly believes that we must act as good stewards towards our planet, and she is determined to make a meaningful impact in the renewable energy sector.
