WindAid always makes sure that the house, workshop and the community where we work are safe places for all members.
Espaanglisch House is located in a safe area of the city of Trujillo. Trujillo generally is safe. However as in all big cities, there are unsafe areas that should be avoided. This said, always let us know before where are you planning to go and utilize the buddy system as much as possible.
The workshop is located inside the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. It is a large campus with public safety units at each entrance.
The Andean areas where WindAid works are tight-knit rural communities that are very safe.

It depends on your program…
Engineering Program: Participants will travel to the community twice - first visit to install the base of the wind turbine and the last visit to install the turbine itself. This often happens during the first and last week of the program.
Technician Program: Participants will travel to the community in the last week of the program to install the solar panel and maintain existing systems.
Internship Program: Interns will travel to the community with the Engineering and Technician Programs for the full duration of your internship. Therefore, likely twice a month.
